Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 August 2026
Prospectus Careers Ltd ("we", "us", "our") operates Prospectus Careers (the "Site"). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Information you provide directly — when you use our job application form, this includes your full name, email address, LinkedIn profile URL, experience level, country of residence, work authorization status, availability, and any optional message you add. When you use our contact form, this includes your name, email and message.
- Information collected automatically — like most websites, we (and third parties we work with) automatically collect certain data when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and referring URLs, typically via cookies and similar technologies.
- Information from advertising partners — we use Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. See Section 4 below and our Cookie Policy for details.
2. How we use your information
- To operate and improve the Site, including displaying relevant job listings
- To process and forward your job applications to the relevant hiring employer
- To respond to enquiries submitted through our contact form
- To detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse, security or technical issues
- To serve and measure the performance of advertising, including via Google AdSense
- To comply with legal obligations
3. How we share your information
When you submit a job application, we share the information you provide (including your name, email, LinkedIn profile, and answers to screening questions) with the employer or recruiter associated with that specific job listing so they can consider your application. We do not sell your personal data.
We may also share information with service providers who help us operate the Site (such as hosting providers), and with advertising partners as described below, and where required by law.
4. Google AdSense & advertising cookies
This Site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also generally opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
Depending on your location, we display a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies, including those used for advertising, before they are set.
5. Data retention
We retain job application data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purpose it was collected for — typically for the duration of the relevant hiring process plus a limited period afterward — unless a longer retention period is required by law or you ask us to delete it sooner.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the UK/EU GDPR, and US state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to certain processing, including for advertising purposes. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@example.com.
7. Children's privacy
This Site is intended for working professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
8. International data transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States, United Kingdom and Canada, which may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the revised policy.
10. Contact us
If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at hello@example.com.
